Culture CLOSE-UP consists of engaging and informative English teaching videos that familiarise secondary students with British and American cultures. It consists of five British and five American English videos addressing various topics, such as sport, music and technology. All the videos are accompanied with student worksheets to help teachers make the most of their time. The topics covered by the American English video are: • Sport • Music • Media/Digital Lifestyle • Festivals and holidays • Cities in the US The topics covered by the British English video are: • Appearance • Media/Digital Lifestyle • Leisure • Cities in Britain • Schools in the UK What makes it great? ● Videos on different cultures make lessons more fun and provide additional classroom practice. They build students' confidence in speaking English while also raising their awareness of other cultures. ● Videos can be customised to support and encourage students with different levels of English by using: o alternative voiceovers and worksheets (easier and more challenging) o on/off subtitles function to adjust the level of support for students ● Comprehensive teacher’s notes save time when preparing for class.
